Rather than replacing a cherished campus that has served generations of Klein ISD families, the modernization and expansion of Haude Elementary School revitalized the school into an imaginative, future-ready learning environment. Designed by PBK Architects as part of the voter-approved 2022 Bond program, the project balances deep-rooted neighborhood heritage with cutting-edge PreK–5 educational architecture.


PBK’s design concept centers on curiosity and exploration, drawing architectural inspiration from diverse Texas ecosystems. Environmental graphics, dynamic color palettes, natural textures and daylight-rich corridors delineate grade-level learning neighborhoods. At the campus core, a space-themed central media center serves as an anchor, branching out to integrated STEM exploration hubs, maker spaces and adaptable small-group instruction pods.


Visual documentation captures the balance between tactile, child-scaled interior design and high-performance building infrastructure. The photography highlights flexible collaborative common spaces, vibrant wayfinding elements and purposeful circulation paths that connect indoor instruction directly with outdoor learning courtyards.
